About this role:
This Software Engineering Senior Manager will serve as the Lead for TCOO Engineering and Cloud Migration Team in India and Philippines. This leader will partner with global Engineering and Cloud Migration Executive in driving the technology strategy and roadmap for TCOO. This role reports into to the Head of Technology for Chief Operating Office (TCOO) in India and to Engineering and Cloud Migration Technology Executive.
This leader will help us advance TCOO’s technological capabilities and deliver on our business objectives. This leader will also manage the effort to migrate the TCOO portfolio to the cloud, improve our engineering performance, and modernize our applications to deliver greater business value. The leader will work with technology partners to build or bring in solutions that help modernize existing and new applications using cloud, containers, API’s, digital etc. This person will be a technology evangelist who will bring in technology solutions to accelerate transformation and modernization while ensuring maximum ROI.
In this role, you will:
Lead a team of Principle Engineers and Senior Engineers.Measure the current state of engineering maturity for TCOO.Ensure there is a strategy and roadmap to create the modernization journey. Create unified backlogs for the app teams that are customized to their specific area.Application Modernization journey includes Industry standard 15 Factors, API, automated testing, EPL adoption, etc.Platform modernization journey includes Datacenter consolidation & standardization, Containerization, etcTool chain modernization includes adoption of all the CDO (Chief Development Office) tools such as GitHub Actions, Harness, Playwright, HyperExecute, Octane, etc.Create automated framework working in conjunction with CDO to be able to reduce the effort of app teams to onboard to the frameworks.Responsible for automated and regression testing framework across the TCOO portfolioFocus on Containerization of applications and enabling application development teams with Architectural patterns and Accelerators.Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities.Provide thought leadership both from a strategic and technical perspective for various initiatives within the group.Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices.Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers.Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation.Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers.Lead team to achieve objectives.Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
Required Qualifications:
16+ years of technology experience – engineering and developing enterprise scale software solutions; with 7+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Strong Experience in containerization technologies such as OpenShift Container Platform, Docker and Kubernetes.Strong DevOps/CI/CD process architecture/engineering.Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness, etc.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.Deep understanding of cloud platformsExperience with infrastructure automation configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible or similarAbility to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Wells Fargo’s size, scale, and complexity.Experience with Agile methodology of project delivery and product transformation, including but not limited to prioritization product scope, intake and discovery of new work and work in progress within the portfolio.Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing, and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.Proven experience in establishing a vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and driving action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives.Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure, and application development with strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage the complex and diverse applications portfolio.Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style.Demonstrated ability to consult with key business partners and translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood along with the ability to effectively partner and influence at the senior executive level.Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries.Experience building products or leading engineering functions operating at a global scale, and in a hybrid deployment model of cloud-native (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS) and on-premises.Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership.Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
