Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, experienced Engineering Manager to join the Developer Tooling team and lead a newly formed team in India, bringing fresh energy to Autodesk’s developer tooling ecosystem. You will help shape a high-performing team culture from the ground up, focused on building, maintaining, and supporting Autodesk's current and next generation of tools for developers.
We are looking for a strong leader and communicator with a balance of technical knowledge and business acumen. As an ideal candidate, you have led teams developing scalable cloud platform tools in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership by consulting on methods, tools, techniques, standards, and procedures, with a focus on TypeScript, Python, and Java
Lead a small team of engineers, providing mentorship, career growth, and performance management
Decompose large technical problems into manageable components, provide clear technical solutions, and lead implementation to ensure high-quality software delivery
Work cross-functionally and cross-organizationally to gather requirements, define key development activities, and ensure delivery aligns with both technical and business goals
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
2+ years managing engineering teams, with a focus on mentorship and performance development.
8+ years of experience in the industry involving designing and developing cloud/server applications
Strong hands-on experience in TypeScript, Python, or Java, with exposure to web technologies, AWS, and cloud databases
Experience building automation and CI/CD pipelines
Experience designing and developing REST APIs, including use of tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and developing SDKs or client libraries for public APIs
Experience using Docker to build containerized applications
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns
Experience with Observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
