This is an outstanding chance to gain real-world experience in a collaborative environment while working on projects that will truly make a difference. This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from January 2025-August 2025. Software Engineering Co-ops at Emerson participate in full-stack development of enterprise-grade web applications including everything from responsive front-end development all the way down to database design, unit testing, and DevOps. While engineers here are exposed to many different aspects of development, each individual is given opportunities to grow in areas that interest them most. Senior engineers are here to mentor along the way, but even co-ops can take the lead in introducing new technology to the team! **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Develops and unit tests development tasks, sometimes via pair programming + Participates in requirements gathering and breakdown sessions with the customer and the development team + Assists with functional testing and other tasks as needed + Learn and grow into a professional and productive team member **Who You Are:** You stay aligned with your goals and stay productive. You make new connections and build relationships in other areas and teams. You take time to ask questions and define the problem and make learning a priority and a goal. You solicit both input and discussion. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university + Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science, or related field + At least one object-oriented programming course completed prior to co-op + Commitment to full-time (40 hour) **Spring/Summer (January 2025- August 2025)** Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA. + Legal authorization to work in the United States.
