Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Software Engineer – Sr. Consultant level (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

Analyze, document, design, code, unit test, and implement solutions for system enhancements, and production fixes.Collaborate with business units and technical staff to understand business requirements for use in designing appropriate solutions.Evaluate options and provide recommendations on scope and scale of effort required to implement final requirements.Build and maintain effective relationships across functional areas to provide superior product support.Cultivate and suggest ideas for the extension of current systems to new products and services.Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards, processes, and systems.Provide rotational 24x7 on call support for problem analysis and resolution as scheduled.Ensure on-schedule delivery of a high-quality product that meets business and technical requirements.Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate to ensure the quality of work delivered by teammates is in accordance with development standards.Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant level-related occupation.Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant level-related occupation.5 years of software design and development experience in IBM Basic assembly language and successors and Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM).Designing and developing solutions for highly scalable, highly available complex systems.Reading mainframe dumps for problem troubleshooting and resolutions with the use of ipcs.C or C++, Object-Oriented Development, and TCP/IP.Writing technical design and building documentation for all aspects of a project.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $155,709.00 USD to $229,300.00 USD USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
