This role is full-time in office. The pay range is $102,000-$147,000 DOE. Primary Function: The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and executing test station applications for system validation of AR/VR devices. The ideal candidate will have a background in robotics and/or mechatronics and experience building test stations for manufacturing, specifically optical products. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: + Work with hardware and software teams to integrate various software/hardware components and develop UI front-end for test stations. + Integrate motion, lighting, and imaging controllers into test suites. + Refine the development of a device testing tool which captures, processes, analyzes, stores, and presents device test results from manufacturing test stations. + Adapt stations to new hardware products. + Interface with manufacturing partners for test station support. + Use technical expertise to investigate, troubleshoot, and verify defects. + Be an active team player, while working independently. + Proactively reach out to partners and ask relevant questions when blocked. + Learn new systems and tools. + Document and improve code quality. + Focus on development and execution of test station applications for system validation for AR/VR devices. + Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) + Education: BSCSE, MSCSE preferred. + 3-5+ years of relevant work experience. + Very strong Python skills. + Strong programming and problem-solving skills. + Understanding of HW, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, and related fields. + Understanding of hardware/software interoperability. + Understanding of software engineering principles, code version control, and Python. + Strong troubleshooting skills to root cause issues. + Self-starter, shows a propensity to find solutions and fix problems. + Good communication skills, both written and oral. + Works well with other people and a willingness to learn new skills. + Strong written and verbal English language communication skills. + Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group. + Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values. + Pass a post-offer background verification. Work Environment Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions.
