The Software Engineer works with leads and senior engineers within an Agile team to design, develop, implement, and maintain Java based applications using Java/REST API/REACT/ JavaScript/SQL and integrate with existing back office systems. The software engineer is also expected to accept coaching, seek training, participate in upskilling activities, and learn the area with an eye on progressing to senior levels. The software engineer can also expect to participate in modernization efforts for a variety of Group Benefits applications. This includes refactoring the application for a move to the cloud and reorganizing existing data for database migration.
You will join a team that is part of a SAFe Agile Release Train. In this position, you will be expected to partner with developers located in both the US and India.
You willReceive training and knowledge transfer from Java developers, the current team lead, and SMEs to accelerate your transition into the role.
Work with our Application Modernization teams to refactor our legacy applications using modern technologies and patterns.
Assist in solving application related issues such as UI performance, process tuning, and error analysis.
Engage in Proof of Concept, prototyping, and feasibility analysis to determine the best approach to requirements and problems for both modernization and business requirement efforts.
Attend all SAFe ceremonies and actively participate.
Attain mastery using TIBCO BW and iProcess as well as other workflow solutions.
Analyze existing programs and stored procedures for refactoring opportunities.
Recommend improvements by studying current practices and proposing/designing modifications.
Collaborate and communicate with all developers and partners within the train.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
You have4+ years of experience and excellent programming skills using Java, Rest API, REACT, jQuery, and JavaScript.
Experience with MVC architecture
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle using Kanban, Scrum, or the Scaled Agile Framework.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Development experience in a cross-platform and multi-tier environment.
Critical thinking skills, ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions.
A strong drive and willingness to grow beyond your current position and responsibilities.

Salary Range$78,230.00 - $117,342.50The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
