About the Role
The JLL Technologies Software Engineering team aims to bring successful technology-based products to market in a high-growth environment. The team's mission is focused on accelerating technology adoption in commercial real estate by bringing creative, innovative, and technical solutions to solve large, complex problems for our clients. We are looking for a passionate Front-End Developer to build features for and maintain one of our flagship Commercial Real Estate (CRE) products to increase its value for our customers. This product is built on a tech stack that includes React / NextJS, Python / Django, and the Django REST Framework. In this role, you will be focusing on developing the frontend portions of product features, technical debt, and bug fixes. We value strong automated tests with unit and integration tests as a step in our build pipeline.

Experience & Education
Undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field or equivalent work experience.
At least 4 years of experience in developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern, component-based JS library like React or framework like NextJS
Experience building rich data-driven web applications by consuming RESTful services and APIs
Experience with developer tools such as Git, CI/CD, IDE, and Command Line
Understand front-end software best practices including client-side performance optimization and how to mitigate information security risks
Experience building scalable front-end web applications
Familiar with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, testing, and usability
Familiar with product and design lifecycles, scrum, and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers
Able to deal with ambiguity. Strive for clarity in requirements and problem space to mitigate UI risks upfront
Make the appropriate trade-offs to balance innovative UX with implementation complexity.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Typescript and open-source component libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design
Experience with Python programming, familiarity with relevant libraries and frameworks
Experience in working with SQL database (PostgreSQL)
Key Responsibilities:
Work with developers and product managers to ideate new features
Attend meetings, participate, and contribute, including explanations and demos
Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions
Coordinate communications between involved stakeholders such as Design, Backend, and SMEs
Write effective, scalable, modular front-end code
Create trustworthy user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant and reliable using modern tools like React, NextJS, Typescript, Jest, and Webpack
Improve functionality of existing systems
Use good security practices and practice defensive coding
Write unit and integration tests
Review other developers’ code
Test and debug applications
Follow a runbook to create releases and deploy code
Write technical documentation
