About the role:
Zego is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support and develop new features for our Property Management Platform. The ideal candidate will be a driven, team player working on a small focused team. Additionally, the Engineer will participate in the planning, designing and developing of new feature functionality for software applications per customer or internal specifications as well as Identifying, troubleshooting and updating existing applications. The engineering team at Zego uses the Lean/Agile development methodology. A high degree of teamwork and flexibility are essential for this position.

What you’ll do here:
Implement software feature functionality according to business requirement and architectural design guidelines.
Build and maintain modularized software components in accordance with standard object-oriented/MVC methodologies.
Create effective unit tests for software modules that plug into the continuous build/deployment infrastructures.
Participate in discovery and design of new feature development and enhancements.
Participate in all segments of the Agile development methodology as implemented at Zego.
Work with business stakeholders and/or QA staff as necessary to troubleshoot problems and/or define requirements.
Strong desire to expand and enhance skills through working with Sr. engineers and business stakeholders.
Maintain and provide ongoing support of existing applications
Understand, write and maintain SQL code
Operate within the Lean Kanban development methodology
About you:
2-4 years’ experience of Software Engineer experience
Fundamental experience with object-oriented programming
Fundamental experience with relational databases and complex SQL commands
Knowledge of MVC design pattern
Experience with Git
Strong understanding of web services (SOAP and REST) and SSO
Knowledge of web technologies; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
Ability to demonstrate advanced software engineering concepts, design patterns and illustrate examples of working with software that integrates with third party solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field preferred, but not required
Experience working with .NET Application Stack, specifically, .NET Core
Experience working with JavaScript platforms and frameworks, specifically Node.js and React.js
Experience working as a Full Stack Engineer or on a Full Stack team
Experience integrating third party APIs
Experience with NoSQL databases
Knowledge of Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Google, Azure etc.)
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and PHP
Knowledge of modern ORM frameworks
