Software Engineer II

The **Software Engineer II** is responsible for coding, testing, and implementing web-based products for Accruent’s real estate performance management software suite. Responsibilities will include creating and reviewing technical requirements and developing code in a variety of programming languages for a web-based enterprise application. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a passion for technology and creative problem solving, capable of working on all tiers of the application following Agile methodologies.  If you are self-driven, enjoy working in a team environment, have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy creating innovative solutions to complex problems, Accruent may be a fit for you.  You will join our development team to work on Accruent’s flagship software products in SaaS and mobile environments. This role will be working on/with our Lucernex product within the Commercial Real estate industry. Lucernex is a comprehensive real estate management solution, which helps clients manage their entire real estate lifecycle, from site planning to construction to lease administration, equipment management and task execution. **How you will make a difference:** + Design, development, integration, deployment and documentation of web and mobile applications, microservices, application services, integrations, and third-party systems. + Act as an active member of the development team to work on incoming tickets/issues, performing analysis, solving each issue. + Troubleshoot any system failures and discrepancies. Evaluates, selects, and implements recovery solutions. + Perform and design testing protocols to ensure that the product is fully tested. + Support QA Engineers to ensure system quality, functionality, and performance testing. + Work with various teams in the organization to ensure appropriate project requirements are met. + Be an expert in multiple areas of the product, the technology used in the product and the design patterns used to implement the product. + Consistently demonstrate Accruent’s values: grit, integrity, drive to excellence, results orientation, winning attitude, humility. **What you bring to the table:**   + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field/equivalent. + 3+ years of professional software development experience. + 3+ years of hands-on experience in 2 or more of the following: Java/J2EE, C#/.Net/.Net Core, HTML5/CSS + 3+ years of hands-on experience using at least one of the following or their equivalent: Sencha ExtJS, React, Angular, VueJS, Node.js. + 3+ years of hands-on experience with at least one of the following or their equivalent: RDBMS products like SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL. + 2+ years of hands-on experience with REST and SOAP, GraphQL is a plus. + 2+ years of experience with cloud environments GCP and Azure. + 2+ years of experience with Spring Boot and microservices. + Solid Object-Oriented design and development skills.  + Experience with standard development patterns, such as model-view-controller/model-view-view model patterns for web application development, 12 factor application development, SOLID programming principles, and extreme programming principles. + Experience writing unit and integration tests using unit testing frameworks like JUnit + Experience working with Docker containers. + Experience working with Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, Github, and Bitbucket. + Ability to work well within a group or individually on projects. + Ability to work in collaboration with product management on feature requirements, tasking, and preparing test plans. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. _Preferred skills/experience:_ + Experience developing commercial software products, preferably in SaaS environments. + Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Ignite and/or Redis. + Experience and/or interest in Test Driven Development (TDD). + Experience with AI tooling such as CoPilot, ChatGPT, Azure Document Intelligence. **Fortive Corporation Overview** Fortive’s essential technology makes the world stronger, safer, and smarter.
