**About the Role** Uber started by transporting people from place to place. It now transports nearly anything a customer could want or need, on-demand. Grocery & Retail is one of the largest growth bets for Uber, bringing on-demand grocery delivery to customers of Uber Eats around the world. You would be joining an exciting engineering team on Uber Grocery, focused on building the best-in-class customer experience. Our team is responsible for building the end-to-end Grocery shopping experience that enables our customers to discover and shop for the merchants and items that they know and love. **What you will do** In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products and internal tools and platforms used across Uber. **Basic Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field **OR** 1-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, **WHICH INCLUDES** 1-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: + Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go) + Note the 1-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated. **Preferred Qualifications** + Product engineering + Scalability engineering + Distributed systems For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
