The Engineering team supports Favor’s mission to bring fast, fresh delivery to Texans far and wide. As a Software Engineer II–iOS at Favor, you will be responsible for all phases of development, testing, and deployment of our backend services, databases, and data warehouse. You will work closely with our product and operations teams to understand customer needs, build simple solutions to complex problems, and deliver delightful experiences to all our users. What you'll do:Assist in research and fact-finding to develop or modify applicationsFix bugs and perform updates to the code base while working closely with senior engineersParticipate in the planning and execution of development projectsPartner with cross-functional technology teams to integrate solutionsSkills you have:2–5 years of software engineering experienceExperience or familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: Swift, Objective C, MVC, MVVM, SwiftUI, Combine, Async / Await, XCTest, Cocoapods, SPM, Alamofire, and/or GitHub ActionsThe ability to take technical direction to deliver well-scoped workExperience with object-oriented or functional programming languages including SOLID principlesThe ability to design working algorithms and analyze their performanceKnowledge of application testing strategies, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testsThe ability to plan and design individual components and functionsFamiliarity with architecture patterns such as service-oriented, event-driven, or n-tier architectureAbility to walk through and manually debug existing codeAn understanding of RESTful API best practicesAbility to communicate clearly with user experience and design, product management, and across Engineering teamsAbility to extend and build upon existing application patterns for pages, components, and stateWho you are:You appreciate simple design You love to write clean, well-tested code (test-first or test-driven development approaches are a plus) You enjoy working with other engineers in a collaborative and iterative environmentYou communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholdersLife at Favor
Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role, meaning you’ll work from home roughly three days per week and collaborate with other team members in person at our HQ in Austin, Texas for the remaining work days.
