Software Engineer
Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description The Software Engineer will be responsible for the development of embedded programming for the upgrade and integration of new aircraft systems. The engineer will work on upgrading flight, communications, and weapons systems for legacy aircraft. This role involves the design and implementation of new systems and subsystems. Responsibilities + Develop embedded software for new aircraft systems. + Upgrade and integrate flight, communications, and weapons systems for legacy aircraft. + Design and implement new systems and subsystems. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. + Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. + Ensure software meets all safety and performance standards. Essential Skills + Proficiency in embedded software development and engineering. + Strong knowledge of C, C++, and Python programming languages. + Experience with RTOS, Linux, and microcontroller programming. + Proficient in using development tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines. + Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile and Scrum. + Experience with database design and management including SQL and NoSQL databases. + Knowledge of secure coding practices, cybersecurity principles, and data protection regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred. + 4+ years of demonstrated progressive experience as a Software Engineer or a related role. + Experience developing across a full stack: web server, relational databases, and client-side/front-end. + Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Work Environment The work environment is an open hangar with multiple aircraft bays. The engineering room is located above the aircrafts, allowing teams to easily access and walk the floor to test system updates.
