DoD Secret Security Clearance Requirement
This position requires you to have a current Department Of Defense (DoD) secret security level clearance or the ability to obtain a Department Of Defense (DoD) secret level security clearance. Applicants must clearly indicate if they have any previous DoD security clearance activity.

From concept to takeoff, you'll ensure high performance aviation navigation systems take flight!
Join Trimble, the aviation GPS leader, and develop cutting-edge software for our embedded navigation receivers. You'll build tools to automate testing and analysis, driving the performance of GPS systems in a wide range of aircraft. You'll also architect the next generation of software solutions, taking ownership of the entire development process from initial ideas to final quality assurance.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:
BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree.
Deep understanding and practical experience in requirements-driven modular structured software architecture and design, with demonstrated ability to implement modular designs such as microservices, plugin architectures, and component-based systems.
Proficient in modular, object-oriented Microsoft Visual C++ development within the Visual Studio environment, with the ability to provide knowledge transfer on Windows-specific components.
Experience with Python 3.x development.
Proven experience in designing and implementing automated test software for real-time embedded systems.
Proficiency in testing lower-level hardware components, such as circuits and chips, in environments without traditional graphical user interfaces (GUIs). (Examples: networking cards, microwave systems).
Demonstrated understanding of user interface principles, even in back-end or embedded contexts.
Experience with configuration management tools and processes.
Ability to create and maintain clear, concise, and accessible documentation, including generated documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to communicate findings effectively across diverse skillsets and with stakeholders is essential. You will be collaborating and working across disciplines such as mechanical engineering, radio frequency engineering, software engineering and more.

Software Process (CMMI, DO-178b)
Experience working on software for embedded systems
Experience working with automated software test tool suites
Knowledge of Digital Hardware and Microprocessor Architecture.
Structured software development processes (Waterfall, Iterative Spiral, Agile, etc.)
Working knowledge of compiler operational concepts
What You Will Do:
Define, review, and champion a scalable, maintainable architecture for a family of command, control, data capture, and data analysis applications.
Support the full product lifecycle from development through production.
Plan and schedule development, validation, and verification effort.
Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineering to interpret, document, review and maintain requirements and software implementations.
Generate and maintain design documentation and user guides.
Ensure applications conform with configuration management, release, and quality assurance processes.
