Software Development Manager III, Partner Experience and Growth

The Partner Experience and Growth (PEG) team helps partners and their associates (business development, campaign managers, developers and other functions) create value for advertisers at scale. We accomplish this by delivering scalable products that build partner expertise in Amazon tools and best practices, offering insights to improve advertiser outcomes, and incentivizing innovation on behalf of our mutual customers. We are building the future of the Amazon Partner Network experience enabling millions of existing and new advertisers to discover the partner network and find the right partner that meets their advertising needs. We are looking for an experienced development leader to lead a team of software development engineers. You will work closely with product management and other business partners to define strategy and visions, clarify requirements, and lead development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. You will have regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy, requiring strong written communications. You will be a thought leader, that both solves problems and leads the team in building world-class solutions. Last but not the least; you will have a high bar for code quality and passion for design and architecture. Key job responsibilities * Building, leading and growing high-performing engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, motivating, promoting and performance management * Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including customers, product managers, stakeholders and leaders to ensure the successful delivery of product capabilities * Timely execution and prioritization of goals for the team and effectively mitigating risks. * Technical leadership including architecture and design discussions and technical deep dives to ensure resolution of root causes of complex issues, * Manage the operational support of products at scale to ensure prevention and timely resolution of customer impactful problems. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience - 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
