Mission:
Lead a high-performing engineering team with a strong focus on technical excellence. Deliver an exceptional material ordering experience for contractors with product customer satisfaction scores of 90+%. You will stay hands-on with technical leadership and system design while guiding your team to build secure, scalable software that meets user needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
+ Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and hold high standards for code quality. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
+ Hands-On Engineering:
Write and review code, design system components, and drive legacy systems refactoring. Uphold engineering best practices in your work and that of your team.
+ Customer Obsessed Team:
Lead the team in obsessing over customer problems and leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to access the health and customer satisfaction for the products the team builds.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with product, design and quality counterparts to align technical decisions with customer outcomes and business goals. Communicate project progress and challenges to leadership.
+ Technical Strategy & Roadmap:
Guide the technical direction of projects. Assess security risks, monitor system performance, and ensure solutions remain robust and scalable.
+ Process Improvement:
Establish and maintain high engineering standards. Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and overall team performance.
What makes you the hero for this job:
+ Proven Technical Expertise:
5+ years of software development experience with a strong coding background. You excel at system design and problem solving.
+ Leadership Experience:
At least 3+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams. You lead by example and nurture talent within your team.
+ Hands-On Mindset:
You enjoy getting your hands dirty with code while balancing management duties. You are comfortable taking technical risks when needed.
+ DevOps Mindset:
You believe that the team owns all of their developer operations end to end and leverages supporting functions in pursuit of effective operations.
+ Strong Communicator:
You explain complex technical concepts in clear, simple terms. You work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering—OR equivalent hands-on experience.
Technology Qualifications:
+ Programming Languages:
Proficiency in C# and NodeJS.
+ Cloud & Infrastructure:
Experience with AWS services such as Lambdas, ECS, Cloudfront, API Gateway, and RDS. Familiarity with containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
+ Databases & Data Handling:
Experience with relational and document databases (preferably Postgres and DynamoDB). Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka. Preferred: Experience with Couchbase.
+ API & Security:
Proficiency in API design (RESTful and GraphQL), API security, and familiarity with fine-grained access controls.
+ Networking & Performance:
Understanding of CDNs, load balancers, and API gateways. Experience in monitoring and optimizing system performance.

Customer Obsessed. Unit and integration tests should deliver value in reducing code smells, and issues via static analysis feedback. In other words, our customers should be saying, "Aw dip. This product is off the charts cool. Whoever wrote that code deserves a raise!"
