About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our advertising products and experiences. In this role you will:

Lead, coach and empower a team of engineering and platforms professionals to reach their goals and achieve their potential

Be ultimately responsible for the development lifecycle, including code quality and security, testing and deployment

Inspire with technical vision and build alignments with management and colleagues to fulfill it

Help refine how the team and group can work together more optimally through Agile processes such as retrospective meetings

Work with the team Principal Engineer to design solutions optimized for speed, reliability and scale

Continuously network with technical leaders throughout the organization to capitalize on available technical investments and expertise

Champion platform uptime and operational excellence

Identify and introduce new technologies that extends platform offerings, powers more sophisticated functionalities and/or improves overall performance

Ensure ad technology adheres to evolving legal and privacy regulations

When necessary contribute to codebase where resource limitations and knowledge gaps exist

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $170,900.00 - $273,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

​Experience working with ad serving technologies like Google Ad Manager strongly preferred

Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, both in production and during the development cycle

Have a deep understanding of system design, application architecture, and design patterns.

Passionate about development and emerging technologies with a familiarity of the broader advertising technology ecosystem

Experience in communicating technological concepts and requirements to non-technical partners

Qualifications

At least 5 years of coding experience across a full stack with a high proficiency in designing, coding and debugging web applications in a variety of frameworks and languages (Java, Node, React, Redux, GraphQL, HTML, SaaS)

Competency in HTTP-based systems, including diagnosing HTTP traffic and response codes

At least 2 years as a tech lead or manager with a proven approach towards mentoring and growing others

Data engineering experience preferred (Hive, Presto, SQL Server, Redshift, Python, Mode Analytics, Tableau, Databricks)

Experience with cloud services (AWS)

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
