As a software engineer, you will work with our cross-functional global team of software engineers, product engineers, designers, product managers, and release engineers. You will be actively involved in enhancing the capability of ArcGIS Video Server products from feature inception to delivery, using contemporary technologies and leading processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities Build server-side Java components and web services to power user experience and geospatial video workflows Understand the role of video quality and geospatial context in the ArcGIS system Work with cross-functional teams to optimize delivery of video as a spatial service across the system Apply experience and knowledge in video processing for optimized delivery to clients of all types across dynamic network environments Prototype, design, develop, and deliver complete software features and products that can scale, are fault tolerant, and handle concurrent workloads Develop automation, computer vision algorithms, and tools for video analysis Evolve, improve, and troubleshoot video encoding and segmentation issues Apply cloud native principles to design software architecture that takes advantage of cloud, services, and infrastructure for massive scale and availability Find, analyze, fix bugs and performance problems whenever and wherever they occur Work collaboratively with other teams to understand requirements and incorporate them into the software Requirements 1+ years of experience developing middleware software components using core Java, Servlets, JAX-RS, Cloud computing Experience working in video broadcasting and related technologies Experience developing RESTful web services Knowledge of and experience working with video codecs and compression techniques and specifications Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite Experience working with large code base Proficient in debugging and profiling tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, JProfiler, JMeter, and more Excellent problem-solving, design, development and debugging skills Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills Bachelor’s in computer science or related field Recommended Qualifications Knowledge of and familiarity with Java build systems such as Gradle and Maven Experience with HTTP monitoring tools: Burp Suite, Fiddler, Wire Shark Knowledge of ABR/OTT technologies (HLS, DASH) Knowledge of MPEG Transport Streams in broadcast and ABR workflows Comfortable with Mac, Linux, and Windows environments, specifically on the command line#LI-DV2
