Come work at Amazon! Innovation is part of our DNA!
Our goal is to be Earth's most customer centric company, and we are just getting started. We seek professionals who are eager to join an ambitious project that continues to push the state of the art in satellite system design, verification test, and operations.
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are looking for a software development engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch software and electrical engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun, and make a positive impact on tens of millions of people.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop software for automated hardware test execution in collaboration with design and operations teams.
• Develop automation software for lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, power supplies, network analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, and control of test chambers.
• Support development and deployment of test systems for development, debugging and production testing.
• Provide operational support for software used in development and production testing.
A day in the life
You will develop and deliver test software for avionics subsystems for both development and production testing. You manage and develop continuous delivery pipelines that streamline software development and ensure software reliability. You will participate in software design, where engineers across disciplines work together to design systems that build confidence in the performance of satellite avionics. You provide operational support for test software and work across teams to unblock production and testing issues.
About the team
Our team designs and delivers the test systems that enable qualifying and acceptance testing the hardware subsystems for the flight computer, power delivery, and RF systems on the satellite avionics bus.
