This Software Business Analyst - Microbiologist position is well suited by someone with a microbiology and/or clinical background. As a member of a highly collaborative, cross-functional software-development team, they will represent customer needs to the software-development team, develop specifications, and help develop software for innovative IVD solutions that help hospitals determine the correct antibiotics to treat millions of infected patients each year.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with other business analysts, software developers, software testers, and microbiologists to analyze feature requirements and user stories to develop effective specifications and quality softwareWork with technical staff to clarify requirements for new features, anomaly fixes, and automated testsReview and improve legacy requirements documentationAssist with product usability and associated studiesAssist with development and summary of key testing metricsAssist with task estimation, backlog grooming, and planning of workSupport product-validation activities and field-related investigationsSupport team retrospectives and other Agile ceremoniesTrain on assigned procedures relevant to daily workFocus on continuous improvement of daily processes and software quality
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related scientific discipline (e.g. Biology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or similar disciplines, and/or equivalent professional experience3+ years’ experience as a microbiologist working in a clinical lab environmentSignificant experience in the use and operation of the bioMérieux VITEK 2 suite of lab instruments (VITEK 2 Compact, VITEK 2 XL) in a clinical environment using ID/AST conceptsDemonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in an ISO/FDA regulated environment as a member of a product-development organization (medical-device or biotech industry) preferredFamiliarity with Lab Information Systems (LIS) and instrument interfacingExperience in creating and executing lab-validation protocols and performing instrument-validation testingDemonstrated ability to gather customer requirements and create specifications for clinical software processes and/or productsBioFire Diagnostics, LLC. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
