About Siemens Technology DepartmentSiemens Technology is the central in-house research unit at Siemens and as such occupies an outstanding position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It acts as a strategic partner to support Siemens’ business units with R&D services, protects the company’s intellectual property, coordinates the collaboration with top universities worldwide, and supports standardization activities in all business units and regions. Through its R&D activities in Germany, USA, Portugal, China, India, Japan, and Eastern Europe, Siemens Technology helps to secure the company’s technological future and strengthen its ambition.

Your mission will be…Design and develop of software architecture for new and existing productsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and agile development teams, to gather requirements, create technical specifications, and specify technical solutions for new requirements and product featuresBreak down solutions for implementation in development teams, providing guidance and coachingDocument and maintain the technical product architectureCoordinate and monitor the implementation of architecture activities across product and project boundariesMentor and guide team members in software design and development best practicesEnsure that software code meets quality standards, including performance, security, and reliabilityStay up to date with industry trends and new technologies, continuously improving software design and development processesContribute to a healthy and collaborative team spirit within the large, interdisciplinary product development teams based across Europe.You enjoy analyzing requirements and existing solutions and transforming them into modern and innovative software solutions and architectures. The spectrum ranges from hardware-related to high-level apps to IoT interfaces to cloud services.

We are looking for someone with…A master’s degree and/or PhD in computer science or a related fieldAt least 5+ years of experience in software design and developmentExperience as a software architect, preferably with certification according to iSAQB or similarProficiency in at least one programming language, such as C, C++ or Rust, with a strong understanding of software design patternsExperience designing and implementing multi-tier and distributed component/service architectures, as well as working with embedded technologiesKnowledge in Continuous Integration/Delivery practices and toolsExcellent communication and moderation skills in English, with the ability to produce high quality written documentationA solution-oriented and independent working style, with the ability to mentor and guide other team membersFluency in English
