**Description**
The SoftGoods Materials Product Operations US Lead is responsible for developing and managing the SoftGoods materials supply chain to enable the successful mass production of all SoftGoods products at Apple. This role directly leads multiple teams including: GSM, Technical Operations, Color Quality, and SME. The Global Supply Management (GSM) team is responsible for managing the commercial relationship with our SoftGoods Materials manufacturing partners. This encompasses cost negotiations, ensuring the continuity of supply, implementing risk management strategies, driving operational and cost efficiencies through process or design modifications, and overseeing the overall project execution. GSMs serve as the bridge between Apple’s business operations and engineering communities, effectively balancing the needs of both groups to ensure the successful launch of products. The Technical Operations team is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process. This includes defining best-in-class processes that meet all Apple design and operational requirements. Additionally, the team collaborates with Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers. Furthermore, the team provides leadership at manufacturing sites during the development and product production ramp, and drives engineering issues to resolution. The SoftGoods color team is responsible for establishing a world-class color supply chain to support the color roadmap established by the Color Industrial Design team. They are also responsible for delivering every color of every SoftGood material launched by Apple.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 10+ years of experience in NPI Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Product/Program Management.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience. Leading and developing a team.
+ Ability to travel up to 20%.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with supplier financial research, spend analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals.
+ Supplier negotiations for cost, capacity, and sourcing contracts.
+ Technical expertise combined with in-factory OEM experience is a plus.
+ Experience with SoftGoods materials (woven, knits, yarns) is a plus.
+ International experience, particularly in Asia, is a plus.
+ Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $225,300 and $339,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
