FOX21 News is looking to add a Digital/Social Media Producer to join our tight-knit, energetic, and hardworking digital team. If you have a passion for social media, love to write, are a great multi-tasker, and can work quickly, this is the job for you.

This role is responsible for promoting our website, social pages, and newscasts through social media and will also be responsible for helping to report the news; everything from quick-hit local stories to breaking news and enterprise reports.

Writes local and breaking news content, and original stories as needed.Monitor all forms of media and be quick to report breaking news stories and always on the hunt for exclusive or trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local traffic.Excellent at writing headlines that grow audience and engagement.Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments.Create content to drive engagement on station social platforms and convert social media users into website users​.Expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms.Work closely with Digital EP and digital team to fulfill daily assignments and upcoming projects.Coordinate with the promotions team and Digital EP to promote big news stories and branded content, as well as other promotional messages, across the website, apps and all social media/digital platforms.Writes, shoots, and edits original content and videos for promotion on social media and web pages.Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.Finds new ways to use Social Media and our website to engage with viewers.Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a proven passion for local journalism and how journalism supports community efforts.Degree in journalism, multi-media arts, communications, or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience.Effectively works in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines.Experienced with strong analytics and reporting skills.You speak gif and meme.Ability to juggle several projects simultaneously.An eye for detail with spelling, proper grammar, copywriting, and proofreading a must.Capable of researching, interviewing, and writing original news articles.Strong multi-tasking abilities.Enjoys working in teams and has excellent interpersonal skills.Strong communicator.Schedule flexibility (nights, weekends).Work closely with Digital EP to fulfill daily assignments and upcoming projects.Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, Facebook business suite and Basic HTML preferred.Responds positively to feedback

Compensation

Compensation range from $18.50/ hr + commensurate with experience and skill level.Benefits include Medical, dental, vision, Life Insurance, and 401K with company match.
