Snr Business Data Manager

Job Purpose

To provide data management services for the client data domain for RBB. Ensure a complete view of client data throughout the cluster and inform and implement the decisions of the data governance council.
To ensure the support and maintain the data governance process and delivery in line with the data governance framework, and to provide data analysis through performing strategic and operational support.

Job Responsibilities Managing and Resolution of Data Incidents.  Root cause analysis of data incidents  Data Management Functions e.g. documenting lineage, meta data, master data, data flows etc. Defining Data strategy and processes  Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc). Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies. Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies and support implementation of new processes, policies and systems. Deliver work according to customer expectations by prioritizing, planning and implementing requirements. Utilize resources by adhering to standards, policies and procedures. Align and continuously improve set processes by identifying innovation opportunities. Identify and mitigate risk by executing within governance. Resolve incidents by logging and tracking through correct channels Ensure work are delivered according to relevant data standards.  Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions. Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders. Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced, and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames. Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining knowledge sharing knowledge with team. Support business units by providing consulting services that delivers data and information relevant to their business. Minimum Experience Level 5 – 7 years in a data managing role specifically dealing with data management principles within Banking and or Financial Industry.  SQL  BI Tools (eg Power BI, MicroStrategy)  Ab Initio  Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Preferred Qualification Bsc Computer Science / BSc Information Technology Essential Certifications Data Management (DAMA) Certification, Certification/formal training in relevant technology Technical / Professional Knowledge Data Analytics  Managing conflict situations  Influencing stakeholders to obtain buy-in for concepts and ideas  Interacting with diverse people  Interacting with regulatory and industry bodies  Sharing information in different ways to increase clients understanding  Change Management  Communicating complex information orally and in writing  Conducting gap analysis  Using different approaches in new and complex work situations of a strategic plan  Behavioural Competencies Coaching Communication Initiating Action Managing Work Quality Orientation Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills Disclaimer
