We are excited to open our Skilled Nursing Facility and welcome the residents late summer / early fall of 2025. We are increasing our number of Environmental Service (EVS) employees in anticipation of providing those services. Apply to join our EVS team and become a key player in preventing infection and assuring a clean environment at our hospital, skilled nursing facility, clinics and other outbuildings. We currently expect this position to begin work in early July 2025. The Cook prepares, seasons and cooks meals for patients, visitors and employees using a production sheet per Patient Diet Order, Employee Food Order forms and departmental luncheon orders. The Cook duties also include, but are not limited to, the following: Preparation and execution of maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen per state and federal guidelines; general cleaning both per posted schedule and as needed; and performing general department duties as requested and needed.

Compensation

Compensation Philosophy:

We have 6 pay increments on our pay scales to compensate staff for 6 years of relevant experience. 

Compensation range:

$19.23- $24.54 Job Status / Shift Information

Preferred Experience:

One (1) year prior Food Service experience.Quantity food preparation experience.

Education:

The Cook must have a current certification by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) -Conference for Food Protection (CFP) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date, and renew upon expiration. This requirement may be met by obtaining a ServSafe Certification or a California Food Handler Certification.  Current Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to speak, read, write and follow verbal and written directions in English.Must be able to work well with people and be willing to learn. Knowledge of kitchen equipment.Must demonstrate a willingness to learn therapeutic diet guidelines, and general quantity and quality food preparation. Responsibilities Utilize patient Dietary Order report generated for each meal to prepare daily Production Sheet.Preforms the basic principles of food preparation and service for AM and PM positions.Responsible for the quantity, quality and nutritious and creative presentation of patient, guest and employee food.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Maintain organized and clean work area at all times Benefits / Perks
