Drive excellence in the Media Sciences program through right-the-first-time completion of daily work, compliance adherence, safe lab techniques, and client satisfaction. Champion innovation and practical process improvement in the laboratory.

A day in the Life:Complete tasks supporting media and buffer preparation operations (e.g. aseptic filtration, transport of materials, client communication, restocking, chemical inventory, basic equipment calibration, labeling, general housekeeping, basic calculations, matching procedures)Perform review of technical documentation, equipment logbooks, and other documentation as neededMaintain laboratory areas in a high state of inspection preparedness.Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs, and Work InstructionsSupport other duties as assignedKeys to Success:Education

Associate’s Degree with an emphasis in a scientific subject area, or high school degree/GED with 1-2 years of laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

Experience

Experience in a laboratory setting, validated excellence in customer service required, experience handling chemicals preferred

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAttention to detail; technical problem-solving skills; and ability to multi-task.Trained in basic laboratory safety.Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.Proven excellence in customer service skills.Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes a team environment.Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and confident working in systems and databases.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently within customer location.Walking/standing for 75-85% of the day.May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.­­­

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $16.78–$25.16.
