This position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Salary range is $21-$24 hourly

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and premier service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

What will you do?

Perform laboratory services such as checking hazardous waste labels, chemical waste disposals, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, delivery of on-site chemicals and packages, stockroom management, and inventory scanningWork within computer systems to follow standard operating procedures and daily metric proceduresProactively communicate with the team lead or supervisor any customer concernsEffectively address customer concerns within established resolution timeframesEngage in process improvement activitiesMay be required to provide minimal coverage for critical business needs which can include chemical library management, registration of chemicals, and service areas as needed

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience

1 year of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred.

Experience working in customer service is also a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAble to read, write, and speak English fluentlyStrong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the social skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.Must possess operating skills to use handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.

Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentWorks primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work at the customer locations. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn, including lab coats, safety gloves, safety shoes, and/or safety glasses.Must lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds regularly; occasional lifting of 50 pounds using equipment like pushcarts.Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $16.78–$25.16.
