Site Safety Officer
**Clean Harbors** Remediation Group is seeking a **Traveling Safety Officer** to join our team. The **Traveling Safety Officer** is primarily responsible for supporting project sites and assisting with H&S program implementation and improvements. **** This position will travel 90-100%, must be open and flexible to travel at any type of cadence.** **Location:** Denver, CO or another major city preferred **Pay:** Hourly rate of $25-35 DOE, per diem available while traveling Join a team dedicated to safely executing large technical remediation, environmental construction, and transportation and disposal projects both nationally and internationally. Collaborate with industry professionals across our Sales, Landfill, Incineration, Transportation, TSDF, and local office network, leveraging our company's turn-key approach to projects and customer service. **Why work for Clean Harbors?** + Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5; + Competitive wages; + Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment; + Group 401K with company matching component; + Opportunities for growth and development for all stages of your career; + Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement; + Positive and safe work environments. **Key Responsibilities:** + Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes while acting in a safe manner at all times; + Interface with project managers, superintendents, supervisors, foreman, heavy equipment operators and laborers on projects or at facility sites; + Work and learn under the guidance of the Health & Safety professionals; + Assist in the development of HASPs, JHAs, and other required safety documents; + Develop and manage safety related communication and updates; + Assist with onboarding and guidance of new employees; + Serve on the Safety Committee and help guide policy and procedures; + Assist with H&S related admin functions such as training and incident reporting; + Perform other duties and tasks assigned from time to time by management will be required by the Clean Harbors business. **What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?** + High school diploma or equivalent required; + Bachelor’s degree/certificate in safety related field preferred or 3-5 years of direct field safety experience in lieu of degree; + Background of H&S in industrial environment is preferred; + Ability to work in a team environment and independently; + Proficient with computers, web navigation, MS Suite, Adobe Acrobat preferred; + **Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR required** ; + Ability to follow company policy on facial hair and getting fit for a respirator as needed, which could include shaving; + Knowledge of Federal and State regulations. **Physical Requirements** + Ability to walk, stand, sit for extended periods, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach, crawl, stoop, crouch, and balance; + Navigate varying site conditions, including steep slopes and rugged terrain; + Ability to lift 50 pounds; + Requires speaking, listening, understanding, and writing English; color determination, depth perception, clarity of vision, and 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected); + Maintain a clean and organized work environment and personal appearance.
