GILBANE has opportunities for Site Safety and Health Officers to support our projects at Fort Smith, Arkansas.  These projects will begin in 2025.

Gilbane is seeking a Project Safety Manager to administer the safety program and serves as safety advisor, ensuring safety compliance by the project team and all employees and subcontractors working at the site. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.

Responsibilities Support all safety efforts on the project and promote the Gilbane Cares safety cultureEnsure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, Three phases of CQM meeting, AHA review, PTPs, etc.Ensure contractors meet Gilbane safety submittal requirementsMaintain all safety related documentationEnsure contractor compliance with Gilbane safety plan, contract safety requirements & expectationsMake recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or healthUtilize SafetyNet to Audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety PlanPerform at least 15 SafetyNet inspections/month with at least 100 observations each inspection.Coach project teams in effective hazard identification and correction of issues using SafetyNetReview SafetyNet trending reports with project teamProvide safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, EM385-1-1 & and OSHA requirementsInvestigate all accidents/near misses and complete all paperwork requiredServe as project liaison and manage project correspondence with Insurance carriersEnsure project teams have safety equipment and resources  Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

BCSP credentialCollege Level courses in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering or Equivalent5 years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising / managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)Or equivalent combination of education and experienceOSHA 30 hours constructionEM385-1-1 40 hour training8 hours of documented formal, online, or self-study safety and health related coursework in the past 5 years.  Examples of continuing education activities that meet this requirement are: writing an article, teaching a class, reading/writing professional articles, attendance/participation in professional societies/meetings, etcCompetent Person Training - Fall Protection, Excavation, Scaffolding, Confined Spaces, etc

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Proficient knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methodsPractical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policiesCapable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective actionProficient computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suiteProficient written and verbal communication skillsDeveloped management, leadership and interpersonal skills
