Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer
Job Description

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and procedures on federal construction projects. The SSHO plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring the safety of all employees on site.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and 29 CFR 1926.16 requirements for the project.Provide safety oversight and maintain a safety program in line with the Contractor's and Government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan.Maintain presence at the work site at all times or ensure an equally-qualified Alternate SSHO is available.If off-site for more than 24 hours, provide an equally-qualified alternate SSHO to fulfill SSHO roles and responsibilities.When temporarily off-site (up to 24 hours), a Designated Representative may assume safety duties as a collateral position.Essential SkillsExperience in construction safety, specifically federal construction projects.Proficiency in site safety practices and procedures.Familiarity with EM385-1-1 and USACE construction safety regulations.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 30 certification.Experience in USACE or NAVFAC construction projects.Work Environment

The position involves working on federal construction project sites, requiring adherence to strict safety standards and regulations. The SSHO and alternate must be present to ensure compliance with safety protocols. The role may involve wearing appropriate safety gear and following the site's safety dress code.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
