This position is hybrid, must be able to work in Wyomissing, PA.

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our growing team. As an SRE, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems, ensuring a seamless user experience. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to design, build, and manage infrastructure that supports our software applications, with a strong emphasis on automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Maintain System Reliability: Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of our production systems by proactively monitoring and responding to issues.Automate Operations: Develop and implement automation tools and scripts to streamline system management tasks, reducing manual intervention and improving efficiency.Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts, including identifying root causes, implementing fixes, and documenting incident reports. Participate in on-call rotations as needed.Capacity Planning: Forecast future resource needs and scale infrastructure to meet growth demands while maintaining cost efficiency.Infrastructure as Code: Design and manage infrastructure using IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, to ensure consistency and reproducibility.Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and address issues before they impact users.Security Compliance: Work with security teams to ensure systems meet compliance requirements and are protected against security threats.Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including post-mortem analyses, to enhance the reliability and resilience of our systems.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and QA, to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or similar role.Technical Expertise: Strong background in Linux/Unix systems administration, networking, and cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Programming Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Go, C).Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar.CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, or Concourse.Incident Management: Experience in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem documentation.Automation: Strong focus on automation and a deep understanding of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Security Best Practices: Understanding of security best practices and experience in securing production environments.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
