Hinderton School is looking to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic and self motivated Site Maintenance Officer to join our team in January 2025. This is to replace our current SMO, who is retiring in April 2025. This is an exciting and varied role.
The duties will include:-
all aspects of site security making sure our site is always safe, secure and clean being a registerd key holder including opening and closing the site at the beginning and end of the day, general site maintenance including organising the annual buidling maintence checks required receiving deliveries maintaining supplies undertaking cleaning minor repairs porterage duties (including the moving of heavy furniture occasionally) liaising with professionals such as electricians and plumbers supervising the school employed site cleaning team Organising the maintenance of the school mini-bus and being able to drive the vehicle Grounds maintenance, operation of the school ride-on lawnmower Clearing the site of Snow and gritting as and when requiredPlease refer to the job description for more information on the role and responsibilities.
Training will be provided in key health and safety area's such as legionella, asbestos management, fire safety and MiDAS mini bus training.
The successful candidate must have a good sense of humour, a hardworking ethos, ability to work unsupervised, demonstate a commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
The role is for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year and is a split shift, working 7am - 9.30am in the morning and returning back to school at 2pm until 5.30pm. Occasionally overtime may be offered. Hours can be condensed during the school holiday periods.
