Site Maintenance Officer

37 hours per week- Monday to Thursday 7:00am-12:00pm and 3:30pm-6:00pm and Fridays 7:00am-11:30am and 3:30pm-6:00pm)

52 weeks per year with 31 days (plus Bank Holidays) holiday to be taken in the school holidays.

Grade 5 £24,294.00-£25,979.00

Permanent subject to a 24 week probation period

Haslington Primary Academy and Nursery are looking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic Site Maintenance Officer to join our team to ensure that a clean and safe environment is maintained in our school.

The successful applicant must be able to maintain the school building and its grounds to a high standard and be able to work to their own initiative. An understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities and general buildings improvement and maintenance is desirable.

Duties include:

Maintaining the security of the premises and its contents, including being a registered key holder; Undertaking minor repairs, maintenance work and porterage duties; Ensuring that the lighting and heating systems are in good working condition; Ensuring the school is kept clean through close working with the site team; Purchasing site-related maintenance materials (own vehicle will be required to transport); Working with the Site Manager/Health and Safety Manager to support with the arrangements for project developments, general repair and maintenance; Responding to out of hours emergency call-outs as necessary in order to provide effective security arrangements.

The successful applicant must: -

be conscientious and trustworthy; demonstrate outstanding attention to details; have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a team; have the ability to act on their own initiative;  ideally have relevant experience in working in a facilities maintenance role; have a good sense of humour and a hardworking ethos; demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
