Site Inspector

Job Description

In response to strategic growth, we are currently seeking a Site Inspector to join our GTA team.

This role sits within our global business area Places. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Role accountabilities:

Field review inspection and related contract administration for municipal infrastructure projects (e.g. sewer, watermain, road, solid waste management, etc.) for public and private clientsRegular site audits to ensure Public SafetyChecking of line and gradeEnsure requirements of contract are complied with (e.g., workmanship, allowable materials, and tolerances)Field testing and inspection of materials and equipmentObtaining and recording as-constructed informationMaintaining sufficient data to determine periodic progress of the workReviewing Contractor’s requests for payment as to progress, quantities of work completed and materials delivered to siteSome drafting and design work dependent upon the candidate’s abilitiesMust be comfortable with site travel around the GTA

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

 Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma Minimum 3 to 5 years’ field inspection experience Successfully completed the MEA / MECP Inspector’s Course for the Construction of Sewers and Watermains Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices and techniques, plus pertinent codes, regulations and statutesStrong technical, analytical, interpersonal and communication skillsWorking experience with MS Office, Windows and CADD applications an assetIdeal candidate will have previous local experience in municipal constructionBasic topographical surveying skillsA vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s License – ‘G’ Class
