Site Giving/ Disaster Relief Philanthropy Lead, Giving & Social Impact
The Position

The Opportunity

The Site Giving Lead will drive the site-giving initiatives, manage the site-giving budget, and collaborate with external stakeholders to align with Genentech's strategic goals. This role focuses on developing and executing site-giving strategies, overseeing seven sites, and develop a giving campaign during large-scale disasters, e.g. Hurricane Helene, and the California Wildfires.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 

Site Giving/Campus Vision Plan: Lead, Develop, and execute the site-giving strategy in alignment with business priorities on a state and local level. 

Measurement Strategy: Develop and implement measurement strategies for each of the seven Genentech facilities and track progress and impact. Recommend future implementation and shifts to enhance impact goals that align with business priorities.

Stakeholder Management and Coordination: Maintain internal coordination with stakeholders (e.g., FGA, SLGA, PAR) to ensure alignment and collaboration. Act as an SME role to all site-giving related GSI activities, both within the team and across Genentech

Workstream Management: Manage all aspects of the site-giving workstream, including measurement, budget, and internal/external communications. Work with people managers to share caseload with flex team members. 

External Presence: Represent GSI at facilities, conferences, and other public events, including as a speaker or panel participant.

Work Arrangements: 

Report directly to the Head of the Giving and Social Impact.

Required Qualifications:

You have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related/relevant experience;

Subject matter expertise 6-8 years in corporate philanthropy and strategic grantmaking

Deep fluency in business priorities and is considered a critical partner in advancing relevant enterprise objectives through philanthropic investments.

Experience managing vendors (e.g., strategic consulting, communications, evaluation), complex projects, and large-scale budgets 

Leads with integrity and passion for goals that drive Genentech’s philanthropy and deliver the greatest impact to patients and Genentech

Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree with 6 years of equivalent work experience.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California $137,200/yr to $254,800/yr.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
