Role Purpose

This role is a site finance lead and key business partner to the Site Director and reports to VP Finance - EWIS. You are responsible for the day-to-day controlling of the key performance measures by maintaining an outstanding information network from an operational, business line and global functions perspective. You are a strong business partner for the local site director and site leadership team and will drive business performance on in particular cost and cash metrics.  There is also a strong connection to the program organization, ensuring that all program costs/working capital requirements are well understood, challenged and improved/recovered from the customer, along with clearly understanding the relationship between supply and demand plans. You acknowledge the ambition as well as stretch to maximize our capacity in the most effective way and provides meaningful insights on where improvements can be made, where you support on achieving breakthrough performance utilising Lean methodology. 
Combined revenue area of responsibility is GBP 100m and c750 FTE.

GKN Fokker Elmo

As part of GKN Aerospace, GKN Fokker Elmo in Papendrecht is a leading company in design, manufacturing and support of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for Aerospace and Defense programs. Our tools and processes support our customer’s in the development of EWIS. We take pride in producing wiring harnesses for aircraft, which connect all the electrical systems. To make the wiring harnesses, we have everything in-house from start to finish. From complete engineering to our final product, the ready-to-use wiring harnesses, we do this for well-known aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Lockheed-Martin. 
 

Key Accountabilities

•    Business partnering site leadership
•    Excellent in connecting operations with programs with a focus on operating excellence (Lean). 
•    Support strong corporate governance
•    Control of site performance and identification of improvement areas: Ensuring management team has a strong understanding of their impact on critical financial performance
•    Work closely with the site lead and Business finance to deliver and offer insight into site financial performance and budget, and ensure that costs and results are controlled. Close cooperation with Program Controlling is essential.
•    Maintain and improve a system of costing and reporting required to support management 
•    Manage capital appropriations to ensure that capital expenditures are budgeted, properly authorized, spend is controlled and to confirm value delivered from projects
•    Understands the dynamics of working capital on the site and supports continuous improvement on the various elements
•    Control of analysis and insights of impact from developments in operations (quality issues, target achievement, ramp up/ramp down, shifts of work packages) on budget, forecast and actuals
•    Tier 4 daily: Track performance and identify gaps to standard, Manage escalations from Tier 3, Address problems through problem solving, Keep the team updated, Communicate stakeholder feedback
•    Identification and implementation of performance improvement projects 
•    Works closely with head of accounting and reporting and financial planning and analysis;
•    Supports analysis to the business line on site performance and coverages, Operational variances and long term actions to manage over/under absorption analysis
•    Support for the site director on analysis of ratio’s High performance work team and further and other improvement areas yet to be determined. 
•    Inputs and follow up on detailed information request for inventory forecasting and measurement in close cooperation with the head of accounting and reporting
•    Compliant with procedures (“handbook”, company rules, Health, safety and environment principles and export legislation, as far as applicable.

Requirements

•    Min. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field,
•    High degree of familiarity with (management) accounting principles and how they impact performance,
•    Leadership experience in managing and/or mentoring a team, with the ability to foster collaboration, drive performance, and ensure alignment with business objectives,
•    Minimum of 10 years of experience in comparable roles,
•    Demonstrated experience in manufacturing,
•    Fluent in Dutch and English,
•    Hands on and able to work with our global EWIS finance team to deliver results,
•    Ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative team that is responsive and results-oriented,
•    Good understanding of aerospace value drivers and getting the right balance between cost and profit,
•    Forward-thinking and takes a global view regarding the business,
•    Initiates ideas for improvements in coverages and value drivers as well as cost allocation methodologies and principles,
•    Experience with IFRS and understanding of interaction with management reporting,
•    Experience working in high demanding area to deliver insights in the performance and in managing ad hoc requests,
•    Experience with (ERP) systems and experience with business analytics and data analytics,
•    Good communicator to stakeholders in Business Lines, Central (HQ) Financing Teams and other regional finance teams.
