The Salvation Army’s Lynn Corp., is hiring a Site Coordinator and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

Location: 1 Franklin Street, Lynn, MA

Pay Range: $23.00 per hour

                    27.5 hours per week (40 hours per week during summer and school vacations).

 

To work with the SmART Center Director to direct an in-house after-school/day camp program Monday through Friday for 40 children.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Schedule daily activities to include: devotions, snacks, lunch, crafts, recreation, etcPrepare weekly schedule for distribution to children, staff and parentsRecruit volunteers to teach arts classesDelegate responsibilities to staff as neededArrange for purchase of supplies, including snacks, scheduling of field trips, notices to parents, collection of fees, and coordinating with the Director and CO for vehicles and support personnelHandle all disciplinary action in direct manner. Fill out all necessary forms, speak to parents, consult and inform the Director and CO of action takenOversee clean-up and set-up of activity areasDrive vehicles as needed for trips, daily pick-ups, etcMaintain attendance records, medical release forms and other paperwork for statistical and official purposesSupervise all volunteersWork closely with office and support staffParticipate in First Aid, CPR and any other required O.C.C.S. trainingAssume the responsibilities of the SmART Center Director in his/her absenceUndertake additional tasks as assigned by CORepresent The Salvation Army’s spiritual ministry and social mission in the SmART Center.Engage in Christian spiritual conversation with individuals in his/her sphere of influence if opportunity or need present themselves.Pray with an individual within his/her sphere of influence when opportunity or need arise.Recognize spiritual need of persons which may require referral to The Salvation Army Corps Officer, who is an ordained minister of religion

Education Requirements:

The SmART Center Site Coordinator should be at least 20 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements:

Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology or Child Care, and have six (6) months experience working with school-age children; orHave a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associates Degree in any of the fields listed in 102 CMR 7.32 (2) (a); and have nine (9) months experience working with school-age children; orHave a high school diploma or equivalent; and have one year of experience working with school-age children

Work Experience:

Have a minimum of three (3) months experience working with school-age children

 

Other Qualifications:

Must be able to plan, prepare and implement the day-to-day activitiesResponsible for assuring a high level of interest and enthusiasm when working with childrenResponsible for working with Corp Officer and other staff to assure the safety of the children enrolled in the programMust have the ability to communicate all problems or concerns to the CO
