Role Definition:
Position is part of a Computational Fluid Dynamics and Engine Performance team that is responsible for supporting the Combustion, emission, performance and mechanical development of Caterpillar engines. Candidate will be responsible for supporting the Global team in design, development, and validation of mechanical system through engine performance analysis.
Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance on performance simulation, certification and development projects for Diesel platforms. Candidate is expected to evaluate different hardware configurations and provide suitable recommendations to improve/develop new products. Candidate must ensure compliance to all process requirements & Quality systems. Candidate will be responsible for mentoring and guiding team members on technical aspects.
Degree Requirement:
Post-graduation/Bachelors from reputed institute in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering (4 to 8 Years of Industrial Experience) with specialization in the fields of IC engines, combustion and Automobile engineering
Skill Descriptors:
- Knowledge of underlying theoretical principles of engine systems
- Working experience in Diesel engine core performance and emissions
- Experience in aftertreatment specification and performance
- Experience in engine controls software development
- Knowledge in Identifying technical issue through root cause analysis and resolution
Technical Excellence:
Strong Knowledge of 1-D simulation, dynamics, controls orientated or mean value simulation tools (e.g. GT-Power, Wave, AmeSIM, Adams, Dymola, Simulink)Experience of complex Electronics and Controls system concept generation including drafting block diagram controls for simulation assessmentExtensive understanding of control algorithms and logicExperience of modelling complex systems, and the use of simulation tools to make confident predictionsKnowledge of heavy-duty machine applicationsProduct validation (FMEA, DVP&R, Data analysis)Product sign-off and report documentationKnowledge of mathematics, data analysis, numerical modelling and statisticsExperience of design of experiments, optimisation techniques and Robust engineering methodsExcellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignmentsDemonstrated excellent judgement and decision-making abilityPositive attitude, teamwork, global diversity work culture and good communication.Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work groups
