Silviculture Manager

Reporting directly to the Region Manager, this strategy-focused position is integral to our Region Leadership Team. You’ll have the opportunity to influence silvicultural practices across the region and collaborate with the Southern Silviculture Functional Team.

This salaried, exempt position is based at our Vanceboro, NC Region Headquarters and involves approximately 25% travel. If you’re passionate about forestry and ready to lead, we want to hear from you

Key Functions:

Champion safety and risk awareness, intervening when necessary and serving as a safety role model.Implement silvicultural policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure high quality and cost effectiveness.Collaborate with the Area Manager to lead, mentor, and develop Silviculture foresters.Ensure compliance with federal and state forestry laws and environmental guidelines.Review and monitor the effectiveness of annual silvicultural management activities.Lead the region Silviculture team to benchmark and improve prescriptions, costs, contractor quality, and overall program effectiveness.Maintain awareness of current wildlife and environmental concerns.Identify, plan, budget, administer, and manage projects in reforestation, silviculture operations, fertilization, and herbicides.Provide regional budget information, participate in forecasting, and monitor expenditures to comply with the approved budget.Procure and manage the regional/area contractor workforce.

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $97,351 - $146,027based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3 weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
