The role
As a Signalling Team Leader, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Leading and directing a team engaged on Signalling and other associated works on Track Renewals.


Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and allocating work to the team, checking the work quality and ensuring all work is carried out safely in compliance with SMTH (Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook). You will also provide detailed inspections of sites both before and after the completion of core works, as well as:

Ensure safe systems of work are implemented. Ensure the supply of the required safety equipment to individuals and enforce the use of such equipment.  Ensure that any necessary periodic inspections and machinery checks are carried out. Assist in the identification of appropriate training for those working under your supervision. Carry out SMTH testing to affected equipment as required.


This role is full time and based onsite at our Cadder Yard site in Glasgow.


Essential experience of the Signalling Team Leader:

Experience within signalling.   Thorough knowledge of signalling installation and maintenance/faulting. Thorough knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAWA, SMTH and other appropriate regulations, including Group/Line standards.


Qualifications for the Signalling Team Leader:

PTS (Personal Track Safety) Lookout  SMTH (Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook)
