As a Professional Engineer (or equivalent) you will be expected to provide CPKC with effective safe design and implementation of railway projects. This includes (but not limited to) wayside signal and train control, highway crossing design and application software for embedded controllers. The successful candidate will lead a design team and coordinate the conceptual and detailed engineering designs for signal related projects. The individual will also be responsible for assigned projects ensuring completion within targeted budget and finish dates.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead all aspects of designs and assigned projects Provide direction and guidance to engineering consultants Assist in preparing cost estimates, bulletins, technical reports and external correspondence Provide proposed design scopes for internal case reviews Coordinate with internal/external departments and customers to ensure the safe, cost-effective and responsive execution of projects and programs Represent CPKC at meetings with various collaborators where coordination/approval is required for project execution Provide on-call support and response on a rotating cycle for incidents and emergencies to support CPKC's 24/7 operation Requires travel (10-15%) when required to visit project sites, participating in safety walk abouts, and coordinate on site work
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred Minimum of 5-10 years of Signal & Communication experience (co-op experience is considered and minimum of 10 years in Signals is given preference) Knowledge of industrial electronics or microprocessors would be an asset Must be proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office products Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills

Management Conductor Program:
