Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Signals Foreman, the selected individual will be responsible for successfully completing day-to-day tasks by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability and schedule, resulting in extreme customer satisfaction.

 

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

 

 Embrace our safety culture and adhering to industry and company policies and procedures  Support cable distribution & installation, housing installation, assembly of signal equipment.  Perform labour tasks as required by the Site Foreman or Superintendent.  Inspect, test, repair or replace S&C systems, devices and equipment.  Responsibly operates company vehicles and/or equipment and ensures all daily maintenance and inspections of the units are completed  Work cooperatively with other employees.  Performs special duties as assigned by the Signals Foreman  Performs any administrative duties related to proper documentation as per PNR Quality Management System

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

 Electrical or Signals experience would be considered an asset.  Experience installing communications systems is an asset.  Previous railway signals experience is an asset.  Ability to read and understand specific documents including schedules, standard railway plans and specifications is an asset.  Ability to understand and efficiently carry out instructions.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Valid driver’s license  Strong work ethic

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

 

 Works outdoors at construction sites.  Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds.  Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.  Exposed to loud noise.  Exposed to live track/trains.  Ability to work Days, Afternoons and Nights  Travel required
