Position Pay:
\r\nBase pay plus $0.35 job premium.
\r\nPosition Summary:
\r\nThe Shuttle Truck Driver is responsible for moving birds in a trailer from the holding shed to the scale and the hanging dock in a safe and effective manner.
\r\nEssential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:
\r\nThis position will ensure birds get to the hanging dock on time and in a safe manner
\r\nThe Shuttle Truck Driver will weigh trailers and pull them through the hanging dock.
\r\nWill also pull trailers to the scale and weighs them when empty before the trailer is washed.
\r\nWill be responsible for end of shift paperwork distribution.
\r\nWill ensure safety requirements are being followed for trucks and trailers.
\r\nWill maintain cleanliness of the trucks.
\r\nAccountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
\r\nObserves equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety
\r\nissues/concerns.
\r\nProvide accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding any issues or problems that may arise.
\r\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
\r\nMust be able to back trailers into holding sheds safely.
\r\nMust be able to learn how to operate truck scales and print tickets.
\r\nMust be able to count DOA’s and complete appropriate forms.
\r\nAbility to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
\r\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.
\r\nMust be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
\r\nMust be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
\r\nMust pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
\r\nSome positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English.
\r\nPhysical Requirements:
\r\nStanding (8 hours a day or more).
\r\nLifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more).
\r\nReaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs).
\r\nOperating hand held and/or mechanical machinery.
\r\nWalking/climbing stairs. Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists
\r\nWorking Conditions/Department Description:
\r\nHours follow typical department hours. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
\r\nThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.
\r\nJob assignment is subject to the supervisor’s discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.
\r\nMay work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments and some jobs work in seasonal outdoor conditions.
\r\nWork with loud and noisy machinery.
\r\nWork with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors.
\r\nMay work around animal feces.
