Weyerhaeuser’s Coos Bay Timberlands operation, based out of Coos Bay, OR has an opening for a Shovel Logger. We are seeking individuals who desire to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Vacation, and Holidays. Rate of pay is $36.685 per hour. *Key Functions:* * Safely and competently operate the shovel on various slopes and soils while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards * Expected to make daily adjustments to maximize logging system output as dictated by business needs (weather, labor, truck availability, etc.) * Proficiently operate a log loader to meet production standards effectively and safely * Operate and become efficient with apps and other systems/technology as required * Demonstrate organizational and leadership characteristics to layout cutting and Y&L logging plan * Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop * Competent, qualified, and able to work independently, as well as a team * Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver's license * Two years of experience operating a shovel * Possess a sound understanding of shovel logging processes such as logging, processing, and loading * Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information, and treat all employees with respect and dignity *About Timberlands* We believe trees are a remarkable resource that can and should be managed responsibly to make a range of products that meet human needs, while also providing recreation, wildlife habitat, and other important ecosystem benefits. *For more than a century, we've been taking care of forests to make life better.* *About Weyerhaeuser* We sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place.
