The Shop Technician operates and maintain safe, clean interdisciplinary fabrication shops for thecollege of Visual and Performing Arts. The focus of this position is utilizing and implementing wood, metal and plastic fabrication equipment. The Shop Technician Demonstrates a working knowledge of digital fabricationtechniques that could be used in traditional practices. They would operate in spaces where studentsand faculty are engaged in advanced fabrication and materials research. This position will function to give studentsan intimidation free and safe learning environment, equipped with modern technologies in support ofcurriculum, with which they can research, explore, and create through various materials, processes andtechniques. This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
