**Job Title: Shop Laborer** **Job Description** As a Shop Laborer, you will be responsible for cleaning welds on parts, assisting in the preparation of food processing equipment parts, and performing various shop duties. This role involves using small weld cleaning units and hand-held grinders, washing and stacking parts, and handling repetitive tasks. The ideal candidate should be mechanically inclined and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs frequently. **Responsibilities** + Clean welds on parts using a small weld cleaning unit with a mild acid, followed by rinsing with water and a neutralizing solution. + Assist in preparing parts coming off the machines. + Wash and clean parts for food processing equipment. + Lift up to 50 lbs frequently. + Utilize hand-held grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts. + Read and interpret basic blueprints if necessary. + Stack parts on carts and pallets. + Sort items into inventory using a cart. + Use small pencil grinders. + Perform repetitive work, handling up to 100 parts at a time. + Take care of various tasks in the shop as needed. **Essential Skills** + Deburring and grinding experience. + Performing shop labor duties reliably. + Experience with cleaning parts and general labor. + Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. + Mechanical inclination. + Attention to detail. + Ability to use a tape measurer. + Basic math skills, including counting. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Automotive experience. + Initiative to grow with the company. + Open to candidates with very little experience looking to learn new skills. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that offers ample opportunities for growth and development. You will be part of a production floor team of about 15 employees, working closely within 10 feet of your colleagues. The role involves a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential extended hours until 5:30 pm and occasional mandatory shifts on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. Be open to working up to 55 hours a week during the busy season. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
