Assists the Production Manager in managing and coordinating shipping/receiving operations to meet customer and internal requirements.

What Success Looks Like:

Maintain and promote a safe, clean and organized work environment in accordance with plant policies and procedures by leading the 6S initiative. Maintains updates and ensures compliance with standard operator procedures (SOPs). Provides training to ensure the staff is properly trained in compliance with standards. Evaluates overtime needs and make recommendations. Evaluate staffing, training, equipment needs and recommend improvements as necessary. Monitor programs and procedures to ensure on-time delivery and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Load finished goods onto trucks. Load correctly marked cartons to achieve economical use of cargo space and to minimize in-transit damage. Report any product shortages prior to shipment. Unloads trucks and verifies incoming materials and supplies. Ensures accurate counts. Complete daily forklift inspections, trailer inspections, dock inspections, etc. Operates a forklift to move, pick up, stack, shelve and deliver material. Maintains a shipment schedule. Completes all required shipping/receiving paperwork. Serves as the main contact between shipping and management. Leads and implements improvements in their department. Organization of shipping area for efficient flow. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

Education/Experience

2 years' experience driving electric and/or forklifts. Ability to look up inventory locations in computer system. Ability to perform physical functions of job (lifting of at least 50 lbs repetitively). Forklift Certification preferred.

The starting rate for this position is $25.00, with bonus potential.
