Job Summary:

Manage, direct and oversee the functions of the Scheduling, Logistics, Shipping and Warehousing Departments.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

Ability to perform all duties of Logistics Supervisor IEnsure shipments are properly loaded, routed and delivered in a safe, economical and efficient manner.  Develop, direct and manage processes of the Yard Operations, Shipping and Warehouse departments to create an efficient workflow of the Logistics Department.Initiate a continuous improvement plan for the overall Logistics Department functions.Manage the production scheduling process including back up for the Production Scheduler as needed.Coordinate between carriers and Monroe Residential Logistics.Direct investigation into root cause of complaints and respond accordingly (i.e. customer, packaging, production, shortage on shipments, etc.)Maintain Shipping Performance Guidelines as outlined by Monroe Residential Logistics.Ensure monthly invoicing goal is met.Manage Landed Freight costs to ensure loads are shipped in the most appropriate manner for the manufacturing facility while upholding the Residential Vision.Prepare, monitor and analyze department budgets.Manage all tracking and expediting of old units, Special orders and Customer request for Rush Units.Control all special Dealers shipping process & Dealer Pickups.Manage the Prebuilt Program and subbing processDirect warehouse inventories, problem solve discrepancies working with the Materials Department.Monitor the ship confirm process to ensure that it is compliant with corporate guidelines.Problem solves missing units in the warehouse for production units and prebuilt unitsManage the warehouse staff work schedule and performance to key metrics like labor cost per unit loaded in a continuously improving path.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

This position is responsible for supporting and coordinating all functions of the Scheduling, Logistics, Shipping and Warehousing Departments. This position supports key metrics like labor cost per unit loaded in a continuously improving path. Success is based on meeting or exceeding key shipping performance guidelines and continuously improving safety, quality, and employee morale.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

High School Diploma or GED with 4-6 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Transportation Management or related field with 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalentAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of management, manufacturing facility personnel, customer service, sales and staff. Must be proficient in written communication.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, presentations and procedure manuals.  Knowledge of Logistics/Scheduling terminology.Ability to analyze and interpret general business information, and government regulations.Will perform interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluations for the actions of all Logistics/Warehouse personnel.Develop and enforce company policies.Support personnel, creating a “team” atmosphere, balancing and controlling the workload of each employee.Facilitate corrective action policies when necessary.Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, Access.Ability to use various Logistics and Transportation software.Self-Motivated and able to manage time & peopleAbility to travel as required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

Knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) techniques

Advanced computer skills

Excellent organizational skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May have up to 15 direct reports in the warehouse and 1 to 3 Office Staff direct reports
