Job Description
The Shipping Receiving Specialist is responsible for inbound receiving activities and quality inspection of procured materials. Along with understanding of shipping and material movement. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1-4 years hands-on experience within a Production / Warehouse environment. The position will require competencies that include interpersonal skills, and collaborative mindset along with an understanding of all production support operations. A sound understanding of logistics principles, particularly in a Lean environment.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Shift: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Essential Functions:
Operate large forklifts or overhead cranes (with proper training) to load/unload raw steel or other materials from trucks.Responsible for checking, progressing, and filing correct inspection records.Inspect and auditing of inbound purchased components as they are received into the facility.Investigate any quality issues to raise proper correct action paperwork to our procurement team as well as our suppliers.Manages inbound RMA’s / RGA’s for the MiTek facility.Ensure compliance and aid with adherence to the development of an Integrated Management System.Maintain best practices for receiving/put-away, and overall inventory management.Team player in stock room, picking, and inventory when other teammates need assistance.Ensures cleanliness and maintain a safe work environment.Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.Work with Global Logistics and cross functional teams to implement efficient and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that Logistics employees are trained against. Attendance to work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.Ability to work overtime as required and perform other duties as required.Skills & Abilities:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma: required. Associate / bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, professional Degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience in related industry preferred.
Experience with quality control for inbound purchased material preferred.
Organizational skills and willingness to assume accountability for customer experience and plant best practices required.
Computer Skills:
Must be proficient in MS Office and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.Oral and Written Communication Skills:
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information, as well as professionally answer the office phone and transfer calls.License and/or Certification(s):
Forklift certified preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the operators may be exposed to the following: moving mechanical parts, moving product parts, vibration, moving forklifts, coolants, noise levels requiring hearing protection.
