Level One: Level one shipping/receiving associates working under direct supervision to complete basic shipping and receiving tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Level one shipping associates will demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. All shipping and receiving associates will be forklift certified, and may be expected to demonstrate basic computer skills. Typically 0-1 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Obtain job assignments from lead, supervisor or manager.Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.Adheres to quality processes including in-process visual inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.Correctly interpret work instructions and verify documentationUnload trucks – (Visual Inspection, Verification of received goods)Prepare materials for inspectionsPull stock to prepare shipmentsPalletize goods (banding, wrapping etc.)Basic system transactions in QMSBasic packaging tasks (weigh count, labeling, visual inspection etc.)Part marking verificationMaintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required. Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of shipping processes & equipmentThe ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.The ability to read and interpret work instructions
Experience & Education
0 to 1 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree requiredGED or High School diplomaMinimum 6 months prior experience operating powered industrial equipment
Working Conditions:
Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment Constant exposure to moderate noise Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces. Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
