Job Summary

A shipping operator is a person or a company that manages the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies. A shipping operator may also operate a truck or a vessel to transport and deliver mail and packages. A shipping operator needs to adhere to schedules, rules of safety, and inspections. A shipping operator may also be involved in crewing, chartering, and cargo handling

Performing daily, weekly and monthly inventoriesLoading and unloading finished products and any related raw materialsOperating lift truck in a safe, productive manner in accordance with all safety proceduresFilling out daily checklist for forkliftManaging the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and suppliesCollaborating and communicating with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of productsTracking, tracing, and updating the status of incoming and outgoing shipmentsVerifying shipping route schedules and checking orders for accuracy prior to shippingReceiving, tracking and sending orders to customersUsing radio frequency identification to scan barcodes for organized and thorough documentation of all inventory.
